She interacts with me as if each touch, word, motion between the two of us were as burdened with meaning as a two-word phrase in a line by Dickinson or Frost.

She laughed at me on our first date while resting her head in the cradle of my neck and shoulder and taking my hand more firmly into hers.

"It's going to be so funny listening to ourselves--two poets talking to one another, making our own language as we go."

I laughed, too, as I found a line of poetry floating between us and read it out loud.
